Physical Effects of Alcohol

Alcohol can have many types of effects, including short term effects, and long term. In this report some effects will be explained under the main two headings, short term and long term. Other things that will be included are the physical effects that people drink for. Effects also depend on the person's mood, size, gender, and also, how much they've actually drunk.

First of all, people probably drink because it will 'help them relax' and keep their mind off things. This fact probably relates to people that are tired or stressed, most likely after work. Alcohol will in fact help people relax, so it is not all bad, as it is a drug that slows down the central nervous system, relaxing your brain. However, the effects of alcohol do change due to the amount of alcohol drink, so people looking to relax and stay healthy but still drink should only drink a little amount per day. Anyway, other things people look for in a drink of alcohol could also be the taste. They could just think it tastes nice as their only reason towards alcohol, and it is in their opinion, but as said before, a smaller amount of alcohol consumption would be better for the body, because after a few extra drinks, some bad effects will upset your body. People also drink for social acceptance, when pressured by peers. This is usually the case starting from ages as young as teens. These people wish to drink for confidence with peers, allowing them to do things they would never have thought of doing in the first place without hesitation. People that drink for this reason.

Short Term Effects:

Short term effects of alcohol do include nice relaxation, but there are also the bad effects of a bit too much alcohol. These include a slurred speech, blurred vision, more aggressive behaviour, less control over body movement. More heavy drinking effects will include nausea, vomiting, headaches, and also, the dreaded hangover!

Long Term Effects:

Long term effects of alcohol are definitely worse than the short term effects, as most can be permanent. This can include the increased risk in some cancers and strokes, high blood pressure, damage to the kidney, liver, and the heart. Long term effects will also include brain damage, and, it will affect the reproductive organs as well. These are very dangerous effects that can actually happen. Binge drinking will also increase the rate of which these effects of alcohol come. The more you drink, the worse it gets.

Altogether, the physical effects of alcohol are mostly negative. As you can see, it may not seem harsh at first, but when you do think about the consequences, the physical effects can be quite punishing, as well as the other effects of drinking as well. Overall, the physical effects of drinking are very serious so please drink responsibly, as only a few standard drinks a day is all you need to enjoy alcohol, and stay fit and healthy.
